Epithelial Tissue

Epithelial Tissues are located on body coverings, body lining, and glandular tissue.

Characteristics of Epithelium:
-Closely together and form sheets
-Lowers surface rests on a basement membrane
-No blood supply
-Regenerates easily if well nourished.



The functions of the Epithelial Tissue are:
-Protection
-Absorption
- Secretion
-Filtration

Classification of Epithelia:
There are two cell layers, simple and stratified.
Shape of cells include the squamous, cuboidal, and columnar.
